President and Founder of Land Link LLC, has a residential real estate career spanning over 20 years. With the technical knowledge, market experience, industry contacts and transaction know-how, he has developed a unique ability to quickly assess a property’s viability for residential development.
With a degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University, Richard is an Illinois licensed Real Estate broker, is OSHA Training/Construction Safety and Health certified, and has served two terms as President for the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago North Central Chapter and one term as the Association’s Vice President. He is a former constituent of the Residential Contractor Employers Council (RCEC), and first cut his teeth in the industry with a major civil engineering firm where he oversaw all aspects of permitting, design, and coordination of engineering plans for top residential and commercial developers.
Prior to founding Land Link, Richard served as the Director of Land Acquisitions for the national real estate company, the Janko Group, where he identified over $20 million worth of residential properties during the height of the recent challenging economic period in the housing market. He has also spent eight years with Hoffman Homes as Director of Land Development, and over eight years with the top national builder D.R. Horton as Director of Land Acquisitions and Entitlements. At D.R. Horton, he not only provided a supply of land to fulfill the business unit’s production needs, but he also created increased value to clients through evaluation of the land’s geography and his ability to conceptualize the property’s full zoning potential.
Richard has been intimately involved in the acquisition of 1,200 lots spread over a number of different municipalities in the Chicagoland real estate market and principal in acquiring, entitling, and developing over 1,000 homes in 8 communities. Some of these projects include Timberline and Woodland Hills in Bartlett, Stonebridge in Lake County, Savannah in Hanover Park, Countryside in Aurora, Park St. Claire in Schaumburg, Greystone in Gurnee, Lake Pointe in Wauconda, and more.
Richard’s unmatched skills include thorough land investigation through market analysis, lot cost, and product expertise, as well as negotiation and establishing key relationships with owners and municipalities resulting in timely contracts.
